I will fit into that Dress!!

Morning all.

With PM's mum's wedding fast approaching I need to find something to wear. I have a lovely white dress with red flowers on that I have only worn for the photo shoot thing I did back in 2004. The only problem is, since 2004 I have gone up a dress size. This is due to a combination of factors including eating meat again, loving food through my discovering of cooking and eating more, and my lack of free time to go to the gym since I started my course.

So after searching for a dress in Birmingham at the weekend (which was impossible as I am looking for a summer dress and all the winter collections are in now) I decided that I will loose weight and fit back into the dress!

I currently weigh 66.6kgs. Not entirely sure if I should be worried that I weigh the number of the beast but my aim is to get to around 62-63kgs.

So I started by going to yoga on Monday. Its not the most sweat inducing exercise but you would be surprised how much of a work out you feel you have had!

Yesterday, I woke up and had a smoothie for breakfast. Admittedly I cheated a bit and used orange juice from the carton rather than juicing some oranges but it takes more time than I have in the morning. I walked to work rather than driving like I did on Monday although we only drove as we had to pick up a CD tower thing from Argos (I filled up the one I bought in the previous blog. I still have 4 boxes of CD's to find a home for!).

At lunch time I bought loads of fruit including mango, apples, bananas, and strawberries on order to make a variety of smoothies. Last night I read though my Innocent smoothie book (check out their website as it rocks!) to see what else I can make. So far I have only been making the strawberry and banana smoothie but I might venture into some of the others such as mango and basil.

PM has band practice tonight so not sure what I am going to have for dinner tonight. Probably pasta as I have low fat pesto to use and some veg in the fridge. Tomorrow is shopping day so I will be making a nice long list of healthy stuff.

Some of the tips I have come across so far are simple - eat skinless chicken, eat turkey as it is super lean, eat slightly green bananas as they have a higher GI (glycemic index for those who don't know), eat brown bread, rice and pasta for the same reason with the bananas, and snack on dried fruit. Not too complicated. I have my Good Food Magazine 101 Low Fat Feasts which is becoming my bible, my smoothie book , and the innocent Stay Healthy Be Lazy book.

I'll let you know how I get on!

Be careful with the fruit - don't forget they are full of natural sugars, which are better for you than the refined stuff, but too much is not good for you! Make sure you eat a well balanced diet. Tip I heard the other day - eat six (yep that's right) small meals a day rather than 3 big ones. Bring on the carrot sticks!!!

Oh and don't forget to drink plenty of water and lay off the booze. I know it sounds like I am preaching, but that's what Mums are for!
